During the 1980s and 1990s, Xunmu Wu traveled extensively throughout Southwest China and the Tibetan Plateau, journeying across mountain gorges, border villages, and remote pastoral regions. Along the way, he used his camera to document the people and everyday lives he encountered.

More than documents of an era, these images bear witness to the enduring relationship between people and the land, tradition and everyday life, while also becoming an important source of lived experience that would later inform Wu's artistic practice.

20世纪80至90年代，吴训木曾多次深入中国西南及西藏地区，行走于高山峡谷、边境村寨和偏远牧区之间，用相机记录旅途中遇见的人与生活。
