Artist Statement

More than half a century ago, deep within the Tianshan Mountains of Xinjiang, a young shepherd leaned against the sheepfold, keeping watch through the night. He beat on a sheet of metal to ward off wolves while his eyes lifted to the heavy, silent stars above. He wished so deeply to climb past that vast sea of stars and see what lay beyond—but he fell asleep.

On Painting

My Attitude Toward Painting
The sacrifice lies calmly on the altar. The shaman, with practiced hands, opens his chest with a stone blade. He longs to see the unknown realms beyond the sun.
A Picture I Long to Paint
Though painted by hand, it appears as if shaped by nature itself.
As if echoing from a time before time, it draws us into the vast silence of a prehistoric world.

Reflections

随笔

At some point in life, everyone experiences a few fleeting moments of rare inner clarity—yet they almost always vanish before one becomes aware of them.
Gazing at the sky in the depth of night—there is void, breath, form, and substance. Can painting ever be this?
A rare movement of thought, seeking the point of convergence between the cosmos, religion, nature, and individual life.
